We have had this issue before with not being able to control everything with the remote. Yet, my dad was able to do so but does not remember how lol. Is there another code that is the same at the Continu.us brand of tv that I can use during set up?

Google that brand of TV remote codes and then do a search for TV remote codes that have used a similar code. A lot of these small brand names use generic codes and you may find another brand that uses a similar one.
