My Roku remote won't connect. I lost the remote and bought a new one when I do the pairing the pairing screen never comes up on the tv.

And your model of roku? It might be too old for wifi remotes or only uses IR remotes, that why we need the name and model number of the roku?

It's a premium and it's a normal remote.

I assume you mean Premiere.  There was more than one Premiere model, so the model number would be better.  What do you mean by "normal remote"?  There's IR remotes and Wi-Fi remotes.  Wi-Fi remotes have a pairing button in the battery compartment, does yours?  If not, it's an IR remote.  Just point it at the front of the Roku and it should work.
