Connecting remote to a JMB tv in UK

Set up fine so far but trying to set up Roku remote to manage on/off function and JMB tv not listed and no advice how to get past this.   I really don’t want to buy a new tv just so I can pair the tv to the Roku remote.  
Any thoughts please?
