Remote worked fine with rechargeable batteries for a long time. Then every couple days I had to change, so I ordered new rechargeable batteries thinking that was the problem, but same thing. Now every night I have to change again. I tested it by taking batteries out during day while I wasn’t using & they worked. So, it’s during the day when it’s not even being used that it’s draining battery. Last remote got a burning smell, got hot and ruined any batteries that were put in. I don’t know if I need a new remote or what
Thanks for the post.
Please send me a PM (private message) with your Roku account email address, and include the serial number of the Roku device from Settings>System>About along with a summary of the issue you are experiencing. I'll be able to assist you further from there.
Thanks,
Danny
There is a known issue with Roku remotes draining batteries (there are several posts about it). A new remote firmware update is supposed to fix it. I have had the same issue and got the update but it’s too early to tell if it’s effective yet.
