Good you got the app to work. I don't think the remote will, as I don't think you can pair more than one WiFi remote at a time. Naturally, I could be wrong. 😄

Yeah sounds like it is only supported with app. I guess I should have done more digging before starting this post. But I am thinking app will be just fine.

Can more than one person use private listening at the same time?

Yes. If your compatible Roku device is running Roku OS 8.1 or later, up to four mobile devices can be connected for private listening. You can check the software version by visiting System > About on your Roku device.
