I recently lost my remote Thursday night but I had RoByte on my phone and have been using it no issue. I still can’t find remote.. Now when I get to my sis house and try to connect it to my nephew tv it won’t work. I went and got my tv that I bought it for and been using it with and now I can’t use my RoByte.. but it wasn’t an issue yesterday. Can someone please explain why I’m having this issue now?
Are you connecting your phone to your sister's house are you connecting your phone to your sister's home network?
I am connected to her WiFi. I tried both my cellular data and her WiFi although you’re supposed to be connected to the WiFi.
Yes, you need to be connected to the same local network as the Roku - cellular data can't work for this.
I'm not familiar with RoByte, so I'm kind of grasping at straws here.
Similar inability to locate Roku devices has been reported lately by people using the iOS (Apple) version of the official Roku remote app. Might you be using an Apple phone as well?
Some routers can be configured to let individual clients connect to the internet but still not interact with other devices on the same network. Might your sister's router be set up this way?
