Can't get remote to pair after Roku being unplugged for a few hours...

I had to take my Roku (stick? it's the the one that just plugs into the back of the TV, nothing else besides the remote) away from the house for most of the day.

When I tried to plug it back in, it powered up and went to the home screen, but the remote wouldn't work. I tried the reset options I could find, but nothing, so tried the factory reset. Still nothing. Tried new batteries and still nothing.

Right now the screen is telling me to hold the remote pairing button down for 5 seconds, but nothing is happening with the remote.

I don't know what else to do...

@Twinsfan1

Thanks for the post.

Have you tried following the prompts on the screen to pair your remote again? Is there a light shown on the remote? Have you tried replacing the batteries in the remote to see if that resolves the issue you are experiencing?

Please keep us posted what you find out.

Thanks,
Danny

I am also having the same issues; remote will not pair.  Have replaced batteries.  When powering up; goes straight to home screen and is frozen.

@Luvdogs24

Thanks for the post.

Can you provide more information about the issue you are experiencing? What Roku model device are you using?

We would recommend checking out the troubleshooting steps provided by our Support pages here:
How do I set up my Roku® enhanced remote to control my TV?

Please keep us posted what you find out.

I was having the same problem. Idk if this will work for you (may have just been a fluke for me), but while you're stuck on the "pair your remote" screen, take the batteries out of the remote for like 5 - 10 min, then put them back. It might start pairing automatically like mine did. Good luck.
