I have a TCL 75” Roku smart tv with the Samsung HW-A650 soundbar connected via optical cable. When I turn on the tv with the tv remote, the soundbar also turns on. I don’t want it to do that by default, but no matter what I do, I’m unable to permanently disable the auto-on power link feature for the soundbar.
The Samsung manual says to shut off the soundbar before shutting off the tv to disable the power link. This works, but only temporarily and the power link eventually reestablishes itself.
I tried updating the soundbar’s firmware as well as tinkering with the tv’s audio settings. Finally I contacted Samsung customer support, but of course they were no help and said to contact Roku.
Any help appreciated!
