Can i use an insignia roku tv remote to operate a 4k roku device? I just have a roku device and that remote. The remote works with my tv but wont connect to my roku device. The tv isn’t an insignia either, its a dynex
Roku Tvs and Roku streaming devices user different sets of infrared control codes so their remotes are not interchangeable.
If you have an Android or iOS phone or tablet, with a WiFi connection to your home network you can use the official Roku remote app as a remote control. You can switch it back and forth. to control any Roku connected to your home 'net.
Replacement Roku remotes are readily available from many retailers (Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc.) - just be sure you get one for Roku DEVICES, not Roku TVS.
Also, many inexpensive universal remotes have code sets to control Rokus.
Note that if yours is a Streaming Stick model (has a male HDMI plug that plugs directly into a TV instead of a female HDMI jack that requires an HDMI cord to vonnect to the TV) the ONLY replacement remotes that will work with it are the Roku Voice remotes.
