Can I connect an old roku remote to my current roku device?

So I have a fully functional roku (#2) but my roommate took it's remote upon move out. I have a fully functional remote from a long gone roku(#1) still here. How do I connect the remote for #1 to the #2 device?

If the remote is bluetooth, it will only pair with roku 2 xd or xs. We need to know the model numbers of the roku and the remote, look in the battery compartment for something like RC?

It depends on the devices. What's the model? And, if you have it, the model number? (Model number is extremely helpful.)
