This was my first time setting up the Roku stick straight out of the box. During setup I was sitting on my bed about 10 feet away and had zero issues with connectivity. It wasn’t until I created a Roku account via the emailed activation link and after automatic update installations that the remote stopped working far away. I now have to get right up on the tv for the remote to work.
