I have an older purple 3500x streaming stick. The right arrow on the remote (the one I use the most) is very hard to activate and only works maybe 1/10th of the time. I need to press it extremely hard. Other buttons work more easily but also require a lot of force to get a response. I have replaced or rotated the batteries and that sometimes improved things briefly, but not much. I'm guessing I need to replace the remote. Not sure whether to replace it with a different one of the same model, or upgrade to a different system. I have an 8 year old LG Insignia TV, and mostly just watch YouTube videos, so not a big techy person. If there's something I can do to repair this remote that I have, I'd prefer that.
None of the current Roku remotes work with that old device. You may find one on eBay, but it will be a used one.
If you were to get a new stick, you would be amazed at the difference in performance. Your device is 6-7 years old, and that's a pretty good life span for a streaming device. You may get some more time out of it, but the day is coming.
