Add new Roku device to Roku TV

Jump to solution

I have aging Roku TVs that are starting to show their age when it comes to launching apps, etc. To extend the life of the TV and not purchase a new one, I’d like to add a new Roku device via HDMI to take over as the primary device. Does anyone know if my existing Roku remote will recognize and operate the new device as primary or will I need to use the remote with the new device and/or buy new remotes? Thank you.

A Roku TV comes with an IR remote. But you can control it with an RF too. So if you bought a Roku Stick with an RF remote it would also be able to turn on and off your TV. You would be setting your Roku up like any other person does with a normal TV
