AA vs AAA batteries in remotes?

I need a new remote, and I would like TV power and mute buttons.  I've found available remotes, but they all use AAA (or rechargeable) batteries rather than AA.  My Roku 4600 gives good battery life, but I'm concerned about the switch to AAA -- they have a lot less capacity than AA.  How is the battery life on the AAA and rechargeable remotes?  Or are there still new AA remotes available?

@thewhiz44

I've used Roku remotes with both AA and AAA batteries. I've never noticed any difference in performance. That's not to say there isn't any, just that it wasn't noticeable for me. The batteries do have to be changed on occasion, but I never know which to get until I open the cover. Never any instance of "Oh, it's that remote again. Time to get the AAA batteries out."

The other $29.99 remote the Enhanced voice remote, not the pro, uses AA batteries.

Re: AA vs AAA batteries in remotes?

Newer remotes tend to have more efficient electronics so the smaller AAA battery size gets similar life.

Just make sure to buy decent quality batteries especially for wireless/point anywhere/voice remotes, as they are hungrier.

Personally I am eagerly awaiting the launch of the rechargeable voice remote pro in the UK.

Don't forget the Roku app on android is also a remote, set it up now as a fallback.
