lost remote then new network

i have a Roku Express. About a month  ago the remote was lost so I started using the Roku remote app on my phone. Then i was having problems with my internet so I got a new wireless modem from Shaw.  i need to change the network settings on the Roku but I can't get to the settings without the remote. I got an insignia Roku remote that works but it won't pair with the Roku device. Any suggestions.

Re: lost remote then new network

Your don't need to pair a remote with your Roku Express.. pairing is only done when the remote is a Roku-enhanced remote, not an infrared remote.

My suggestion is to go to a local store like Walmart, Target, or Best Buy, and get a infrared universal remote, but look on the fine print and make sure it has the Roku codes programmed into it.
Yeah, I got some Rokus.
