Which Roku products can have remotes not interrupt each other?

Which Roku products can have two remotes and yet not interrupt each other? I have a 3100X (which I'm keeping and not removing) with a replacement remote and looking at getting a Stick or Express. So 2 products with 2 remotes, can I pair one remote to the Stick or Express so it doesn't interrupt the 3100X? If it's not possible, I'll probably look at Apple or Chromecast.

Re: Which Roku products can have remotes not interrupt each other?

You 3100x came with a bluetooth remote that no current roku use, but it also responds to an IR remote. So you do not want roku model like the express because it to responds to IR remote and comes with one. A Roku stick+ like 3810 or 3811, only responds to wifi remotes which have no effext on your 3100R roku. And if you no longer have the original bluetooth remote the 3100R came with and are using an IR remote, the IR remote has no effect on the Roku Stick+.

Positive its an IR remote, I'd like to get the Express but it sounds like it would interfere? Is there anway to program just one remote to one product?

Re: Which Roku products can have remotes not interrupt each other?

Yes, if you're using an IR remote for your 3100 the Express or Premiere remote will interfere, as both come with an IR remote as well. The Premiere does support a WiFi Direct remote, so you could purchase one of those and then they wouldn't interfere with each other. But the Express or Premiere might react to the IR remote you're using for the 3100. The Stick is the only player that you are guaranteed not to interfere with or be interfered by the 3100 remote.

Two different Roku devices should not interrupt each other if they are on two different IP addresses((one for each device because they are two separate devices) It's like if you have a wireless printer paired with your computer  Your wireless printer is assigned a different IP address even though its attached to the same wireless network as your other wireless devices. In the old days if they had such devices they would interrupt each other because there were a limited amount of networks and IP addresses available.

Re: Which Roku products can have remotes not interrupt each other?

The OP wants to use the remotes included with the roku, not $300 universal remote that does IP. If you're mixing up IR for IP, forgive yourself. But if you truly wanting them to move to very expensive universal remote, shame on you.
