When i try to adjust the volume nothing happens. However a symbol of a speaker and the number 100 appears in the top right corner. Anyone else have this problem?

Can you provide us with more information? What Roku device model are you using? How is your device connected? Is it connected directly to your TV or through an AVR?

actually it went back to working fine the next day. But I have the 4K HD ultra and have loved all three that I have in the house. Not sure why it happened but it was just the one in the living room. It is also the newest one.
