I have been trying to pair my Samsung sound bar to my Roku tv and I’m curious as to if my problem is that my tv can’t find my device or if the problem is that it isn’t a Roku soundbar. I have never paired anything to my TV so I know that it can’t be a problem. But if it’s simply that I can’t pair anything to the TV that isn’t a product from Roku I’m going to be sooooo annoyed.
The problem is no Roku is bluetooth transmitter, which what your Bluetooth soundbar is looking for, just like Roku tv your bluetooth soundbar are receivers only, two receivers can't communicate with each other. Sorry. Roku Soundbars don't use bluetooth to communicate with Roku tv, they use WIFI-Direct, a different kind of RF signal then Bluetooth. Anyways Roku Soundbars are hardwired to Roku Tv's by hdmi-arc, or hdmi plus optical. Sound is not transmitted wirelessly.
