Sony Bravia A8G's remote won't control Ultra

Jump to solution

I have a new Sony Bravia A8G.  I've plugged a Fire Stick 4K into HDMI 3 and attached a Roku Ultra into HDMI 2.  The Fire Stick was immediately controllable by the TV remote but the Ultra requires the Roku remote.  How can I get the TV's remote to control the Ultra?  Thank you.

Sorry but you can't, the ultra remote will control your tv by cec, but no tv remote can control any current roku.

This is not correct, my LG C1 would control my Ultra Roku perfectly. It was not until I switched it to my Bravia, that I noticed it would not control it. So I think the issue resides between Sony & Roku, because LG worked fine.

A tv remote won't control a Roku by HDMI-CEC, if the tv remote has codes for Roku and controls it by IR instead of signal over hdmi cable, fine.
