Out of the blue my Roku remote stopped working. I've tried repairing it and the same thing happens every time: I unplug everything, take the batteries out the remote, when the Roku home page is back up I put in the batteries and hit the pairing button, I then get the "enhanced remote pairing" window come up - and then that's it. The window goes away and the remote still isn't paired.
I posted about a month ago and no one responded, can anyone help me - please?! I don't understand why I can get the "remote pairing" window up but then nothing past that.
Shout out to @renojim as I was having this issue with my remote out of the blue, I think due to the batteries dying. But upon installing a new pair of batteries, I was getting no response from the Roku despite the green light inside the controller flashing. I knew the batteries were new/full, but it just wouldn't pair.
After reading the advice from renojim, I switched out the new Dynex batteries with a pair of used Duracell batteries (that still had some power left) and lo and behold it paired right away. I was able to switch out the Duracell for the Dynex once it was paired. What a bizarre problem. Thank you for the advice.
So I tried all the suggestions...nothing will pair my remote...and to top it off I reset my roku stick and now nothing works and since the remote won't pair I can't configure it to connect to the network so I can try via the app. I tried 4 different sets of batteries. I even bought a new roku device for another room, that remote is not enhanced so it doesn't work. I tried those batteries, nothing....any other suggestions?
I just threw the whole thing in the electronic recycle bin... I changed my password on my network and I couldn't get the roku past the Roku Enhanced Remote pairing screen... just never would pair.. did it a million times, I'm done w/it. Have a Roku 3 in the bedroom that works fine. The sticks are **bleep**, run too hot and breaks up every so often. I may get an Apple TV for the living room now as I'm so disappointed with this experience. $60 down the drain in about 1 year +/- time. Sick of consumers getting ripped off.
Thanks for the inquiry.
We recommend rebooting both your wireless router and your Roku device.
