I have the same issue with my Ultra remote. When I hit the arrow keys or when I press FF, it kicks me out of whatever app I am in and wants to open Hulu!!! I don't even have a Hulu subscription. Something in the remote buttons is clearly crossed-up randomly. And no, I'm not hitting the "Hulu" button my accident, before anyone says that. This is only happening with my Ultra remote. I also have a Roku TV and a Roku Stick on my garage set and those remotes never do this.
That's our Roku number. Those two "O"s might be zeros, but I think they are "o"s. The remote buttons frequently will act as if you pushed one button when you actually pushed another. It's very frustrating - like the wires are mixed up or shorting inside. I really don't know. But like I mentioned before, it didn't happen with our other two Roku devices/remotes. Just the Ultra.
YJ00AD613011 - Same as the other poster, not sure if those are zeros or "O". Hard to tell on the screen. Still having the same issue as my original post - crazy remote randomly kicks me out of whatever I am in, and tries to start "Hulu", no matter what buttons I press!
I am the OP for this thread. I originally posted this in 2018. Here we are nearly in 2022 and still have the same problem. I have learned to live with it.
I have 2 Roku Ultras with 3 remotes. All 3 do the same thing- THEY ARE NUTS. Just yesterday I simply placed the remote on the table without even getting close to touching the buttons and it kicked me out of YouTube to the Home screen.
I gave up. I’m not going to deal with my b issues of the volume randomly going up, down, muffled or scratchy. Returning mine and going back to Fire Stick. They did upgrades and their remote has volume buttons, etc now, you can see the screen when you fast forward and rewind and it’s half the price of a roku. They wanted me to return my roku then they would send me another one. When they should have sent me the replacement and then I return the defective one. I’m not going without tv for a week or two.
