Roku Streaming stick 3800R remote volume control button

Jump to solution

Remote volume control button (when pressed) only changes the volume by one increment every 4 or 5 minutes, no matter how many times you repeatedly press the button.   I "assume" we need a new remote but I am uncertain which one we should buy.   Links to replacement or item numbers, etc would be appreciated.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Martha

Thanks for the help everyone!   We ended up removing the stick/and then putting it back in and everything works great now.

With new batteries in you can try re-programming the remote for your tv:

settings> remote & devices> remote> remote in use> program tv> follow prompts

For a new remote, go with the third one down the $19.99 voice remote:

Try re-running the remote TV control setup:

Settings/Remotes & devices/Remotes/<your remote here> (in use)/Set up remote for TV control

Otherwise you need the Voice Remote (RCAL7R) or Voice Remote Pro (RCS01R) available at Walmart/Best Buy/Amazon/etc

or from Roku:  https://www.roku.com/products/accessories/streaming-stick

I have the same issue as Martha- and the same model streaming stick, rerunning the programming does not solve the problem.

Any other ideas? Thanks.

Hi @allSports

Thanks for the post.

We suggest you try re-pairing first your remote to your Roku stick then proceed re-programming the remote to control your TV once again.

If you need help pairing the remote, the steps in this link might help: How to resolve issues with your Roku® simple remote or Roku voice remote

Furthermore, please be advised that Roku sticks can be connected directly to an HDMI port on your TV – therefore, wireless interference from the HDMI connector may impact the performance of your remote. You can try moving it away from the HDMI connector on your TV by installing a free extension cable.

Let us know how it goes!

All the best,
Kariza

Re-Pairing my remote didn't seem to help. I ordered the extension cable to see if that fixes it. Not sure why interference would only affect voice control though.

@allSports

Your issue and @memartha 's issue seem very different - she never mentioned voice at all, just very delayed TV control button response.

Perhaps it would be best if you started a new thread with the details of your issue.
