Re: Remote scrolling on its own

You didnt mention what Roku model # you have.

There may be a mobile device with the Roku Remote app accidentally controlling it, or If its a non-stick model, there may be stray IR getting to it.

1)  Try rebooting all your networking equipment (modem/router/gateway/Roku/phone/tablets).

2)  Try blocking/covering the non-stick models temporarily to see if stray IR is causing it.

Re: Remote scrolling on its own

The unit is a Roku Express and if I cover up the sencer in the front of it it stops a scrolling until I uncover it and resetting all the devices in the house did not help

That confirms the scrolling is caused by IR input to the Roku.

Now let's see if that signal is coming from the Roku remote.  Does the scrolling continue when you remove the remote's batteries or cover over the top of the remote where the IR sender is located?

Re: Remote scrolling on its own

Yes even after removing the batteries from the remote the screen still continues to scroll on its own it does not stop unless I cover up the front of the device and once uncovered its starts again.... I have reset all the phones tablets modems and routers anything electrical in my house has been reset and there is no other Roku remote in the house that could be affecting it

Re: Remote scrolling on its own

There is clearly some stray IR - or a dysfunctional IR sensor on the Roku.

Turning off other electrical devices isnt that useful - its OTHER REMOTES that would be sending the stray IR.

If you can move the Roku to another TV in another room (and perhaps close the door) and it stops, there is some stray IR in the first room (a remote/outside sunlight reflection etc).

If it continues in the other room, then its most likely a defective IR sensor - return/exchange/refund or RMA the Roku.
