I am having same issue. Remote device only works when within one foot of the TV. Installed new batteries, no obstructions. Roku Device only (no Roku TV).

Can you please provide more information regarding the issue you are experiencing? What Roku model device are you using?

Please be aware that the Roku Express uses an IR remote. IR remotes require a direct line of sight from your Roku remote to your device sensor which is on the front, which should not be obstructed.
