Remote doesn't respond correctly when you use the buttons or arrows or sound.

The remote for my TCL Roku TV would take forever when you pushed a button or arrowed up and down, so I bought a new remote and this one does the same thing. You scroll down and it does nothing or suddenly it will scroll down 4 or 5 places.  The volume button does the same thing, you press volume up or down or mute and it sits there before anything happens.  Does anyone know if its the remotes or something wrong with the tv?

You didnt mention your Roku TV model # and firmware version:  Settings/System/About

...or how its connecting (wired vs. wireless)

1) Check for updates:  Settings/System/System updates/Check now - try again

2) Restart the Roku TV:  Settings/System/Power/System restart/Restart - try again

3) Unplug your Roku TV for 10-15 minutes - try again

4) Change your wireless band/channel in your modem/router/gateway - try again

5) Factory reset your Roku TV:  Settings/System/Advanced system settings/Factory reset  <-- last resort
