Yesterday I installed a New Roku Express on my older Phillips TV that also has an Xfinity Box also on it.
Whenever I try to watch the Xfinity box whenever I try to change the channel the TV switched inputs to the Roku. I'm mystified about what is going on.
Try the following:
settings> system> control other devices(cec)> uncheck 1-touch play
Try the following:
settings> system> control other devices(cec)> uncheck 1-touch play
That didi it. I wasn't aware such an setting existed.
Technically its @Tivoburkee 's solution.
you should change that around.
We just got a ROKU and selected HDMI on our cable remote. ROKU appears and when we go to type in our WiFi to set up, the ROKU remote changes the actual input on the tv to HDMI 2. We tried putting it in HDMI 2 and then it switches to HDMI 1...please help. (ROKU express)
How can I do this on ROKU if every time I press a button it switches hdmi?
@Tivoburkee @boogernose how can I even get to settings if every button I press on the remote changes the hdmi.
Your problem is different from the OP, I don't know what brand of tv you have but responds to the same IR code that the Roku express uses, you can't switch either to alternate IR command. The only remedy is upgrade your roku remote to wifi voice remote, pair it with roku, and then abandon the original roku IR remote that came with express. As for setting up the express now,. plug it into the tv, tune to right hdmi input, then cover the tv IR sensor for now so the roku remote doesn't conflict with it and change the hdmi input. And setup the roku. Sorry.
