Hello- ROKU randomly freezes for a few seconds before it reboots. At the reboot a loud pop comes through the ear buds.
I have:
1. Reboot/ Reset
2. Changed remote batteries.
3. Changed earbuds for comfort but heard the noise. The noise happens at other random times. It's disturbingly loud.
4 Often with the earbuds plugged in, the remote won't turn off the unit
5. If the earbuds are pulled out the sound display goes to 100 and back down, but not before giving off a quick blast of sound from the show on tv, then going down to where it's set.
I've given this some time before writing this up. It's not a new problem.
I'm going to say this is a hardware problem. The reboots could be necessary, though at anytime seems odd, and the other problems coincidence
I'm Rob, thanks for your support.
I'm seeing similar behavior on my TCL 55UP130 Roku TV.
For me, the TV locks up when I hear the popping noise. It is completely unresponsive for maybe 30-45 seconds, after which it does a full restart. This happens randomly throughout a viewing session, but only if I have headphones plugged into the remote. This happens regardless of the application I am using.
Thanks for the post.
Have you tried contacting TCL support yet to inquire further? I'd suggest starting there to see what options or suggestions they can provide. Each Roku TV manufacturer provides direct support for their products running the Roku OS.
You can reach them here: https://support.tclusa.com/televisions or at 1-877-300-8837.
Thanks,
Danny
