Pairing Light Won’t Blink No Matter What I Try

I’ve restarted my Roku repeatedly, replaced batteries multiple times, rebooted my internet, changed power sources for my Roku - no matter what, my pairing light stays steady green and won’t switch to pairing mode.

I've set up multiple Rokus, this is the only time I’ve had this issue. Is there a solve that hasn’t already been posted? How can I get a new remote sent to me?

Hi @jallard15

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community!

For clarification, is your remote not working that's why you're re-pairing it to your device? Please also reply here with the serial number of the Roku device associated with the affected remote. It can be found at the back or underneath the player itself.

With more information, we can assist you further.

All the best,
Kariza

Re: Pairing Light Won’t Blink No Matter What I Try

This is a Roku that I’m setting up for the first time. Trying to pair it for the first time.

Purchased a while back but didn’t actually need it until this week.

Does all that you wrote mean that you have multiple Roku devices currently? If so, can you pair the new device remote to one of the other devices?

I do have multiple Rokus, but no it won’t pair with another one. It won’t enter pairing mode. It just stays a steady green the second I put batteries in and won’t change no matter how many times I reboot the Roku or remote, or how long I hold the button.

What about the other way around? Will one of the other Roku remotes pair with the new Roku device?

Yep. My other remote pairs just fine. But that still leaves me with one remote less than I need. But the problem is clearly the remote, not the Roku.

As soon as I plug in batteries that green light goes on, which isn’t what it’s supposed to do.

If it's still under warranty, you'll want to return it. https://support.roku.com/article/208757058

Roku may require you to return the whole thing, not just the remote.

Oh, if you bought it from a local store, you probably want to return that way, as it'll be much quicker. A return through Roku will take a week or two. My experience was a week, but others have reported longer.
