New remote not working. I have the older model that is a purple stick

I have the purple stick. It’s probably over 5 years old. I lost my remote and have been using my phone. I just purchased a new remote with the voice option, as that is what this site told me would be compatible. I put batteries in and it doesn’t work. The zero customer service has me wanting to pull my hair out!

The purple Stick is the 3500. There is no replacement remote available. None that Roku now sells will work with it. It says right on the accessories page that the remote will only work on the 3600 and 3800.

You might find a used on on eBay, but odds are you'll pay as much as a complete new Roku player would cost. I recommend either the Premiere or the Express 4K.

There are several purple stick models.

The 34xx MHL models can be controlled via CEC by a TV/AVR/etc remote.

The 3500 isnt support by the new Voice Remotes, so you'll need to get a replacement remote off ebay

You need to provide the actual model #:  Settings/System/About

Regardless, none of them will work with the Voice Remote or Voice Remote Pro (3600 and later models)

Once you figure out your actual model #, you'll know what to do.

Its probably more worthwhile to upgrade to a $40 SS+ or $30-40 Express 4K+.
