Wallstreetbets? They seem to garner lots of attention 🙂

Seriously its amazing this issue is not mentioned under the Amazon review page with the product. When I was in the market I looked and all I saw was glowing reviews and no mention of battery eating remotes.

Could be some review scrubbing going on...No way this has not been complained about through reviews.

I was thinking of doing the same. How frustrating.

@MooseLips

So it seems that our posts from yesterday have been removed without any explanation. If you want to pursue it further, I guess we'll have to discuss it off this forum.

Same problems as the rest, I just found my wall power cable, hope that takes care of it.

It sounds like the problem that Roku has is that some TVs pass through power to their USB ports 24/7 while others turn off power to the ports when the TV is turned off.  In other words, it's related to the TV model?? Not enough product testing? FWIW, I have a new LG 55" from Costco.

This is a shame as powering this separately is ugly. I don't have an extra outlet behind the TV and the USB-USB cord you provided is too short to feed thru the wall down to power like the TV is. Looks pretty bad at the moment with this little black cord hanging down.

My Roku remote is eating batteries - they last less than a week
What's going on? - the support phone number for roku is no longer in service
is the a fix for this? - I'm ready to return it to costco with a complaint

@kmyers

Powering your roku from a wall outlet and keeping constant power on your Roku will probably work. You shouldn't have to, but that will probably fix it.
