Re: lost my voice.....cant talk.....

Unfortunately, there is no other way. There is no remote with a numerical keypad. Universal remotes that do have number buttons will not work because the Roku will not recognize those buttons.

Re: lost my voice.....cant talk.....

You have hundreds of channels? You have cable? Still? Huh.

Sure, it's your money to spend as you see fit, and if you've determined that purchasing a TV with the most popular streaming platform, yet continuing to subscribe to cable is the way to go for you, then sure, keep on.

Please don't take any offense to my posting here. It's just that I dropped cable in 2011 for streaming, and the continuation of cable after getting Roku is so outside my experience. I've got to ask: what is it you use Roku for if you watch cable TV?

Re: lost my voice.....cant talk.....

I still have one cord intact, due to the fact that I watch a lot of live major league baseball. The only way I can watch the Baltimore Orioles is to subscribe to either Xfinity or Verizon. Since, I have a Verizon subscription I don't need to pay extra to stream ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sports, and MASN Sports on my other 2 Roku TVs. If a live TV streaming service ever carries MLB, I will be happy to cut my last remaining cord.

@OwnerofDevices

Ah, I see. As Verizon FiOS isn't available in my area, I am not really familiar with their MLB package. I'm curious as to what it offers that MLB.TV doesn't offer. Not that I would be able to personally take advantage of it, but I would like to expand my knowledge, if you don't mind elaborating.

Re: lost my voice.....cant talk.....

It seems like MLB TV is siding with the traditional cable providers and not with any of the live TV streaming services to handle any of the games in the future at least in the Baltimore and Washington DC area with the Orioles and the Nationals.

Re: lost my voice.....cant talk.....

@OwnerofDevices So, with Verizon FiOS, you don't have the in-market blackout restrictions that MLB.TV has? You are in Orioles market, and can still watch the games live?

Re: lost my voice.....cant talk.....

I can only watch the games on MASN sports via cable or streaming MASN on a Roku tv, because I have subscription to stream\watch  games through Verizon. Games are blacked out on MLB.tv

Re: lost my voice.....cant talk.....

For those who live in market of your favorite mlb team, and who are blacked out. If you wait 2 hours after the game stopped you will have access to them via MLBTV. My team are the Dodgers and I live in IA, but IA is claimed by 7 mlb baseball teams, so if they are playing any of them I'm blacked out. But a couple hours after the game stopped I can then watch the game via mlbtv.
