How do I get my remote to recognize my LG TV

My roku device needed a new remote (because kids) and while trying to program my new remote to control my tv as well as the device everytime I search my tv brand (LG) it comes us as "no search results. This brand is not recognized as a supported brand. Please make sure it is spelled correctly." As I do not have a tv remote this leaves me in quite a pickle as my tv is very high and I am very short and can't really reach the buttons on my tv please help!

First, check for any updates from Settings->System->System update (or Software update).  If that doesn't help, try connecting your Roku to your phone's hotspot temporarily, if possible, and then try the TV remote setup again.
