I have a 5 yr old Samsung tv and the HDMI port is on the back. None on the side or front and no USB ports on my tv. If I get the Roku streaming stick, and plug it into the HDMI on the back of my tv, with the Roku remote that comes with it still work, be able to detect the signal from the remote? Thank you.
Yes, IR remotes need a line of sight to the component, which roku sticks don't use. They use wifi remote a form of RF that goes through walls. You shouldn't power the stick + from the tv usb port, its best to plug in to a wall outlet.
