I am having the same problem.... my old system that worked perfect: Samsung tv, roku streaming stick with a Roku rc150 remote, sonos playbar optical hookup. New system: TCL series 6 tv, built in roku, Roku rc350 remote, sonos with optical hookup. Cannot get the volume to work with new remote to soundbar ( sound works fine through tv) There are no hdmi ports on the soundbar so that is not an option.
I programmed the old rc150 remote to the new tv, but it still does not work the volume controls. Even tried sticking the streaming stick in to the back of the new tv and using the old remote.... no luck?
What is the solution?? Buy some sort of universal remote ? if so, any suggestions? thank you, Craig
Plugged in the old roku streaming stick and remote into the new tcl series 6 tv.... was able to get it to work the volume with my sonos playbar, but the old remote will not turn on the new tv!!! lol... to quote the Knack..... Frustrated, she's getting to me, frustrated do what you do to me.... lol
This is a bummer. Fire TV does support it. Roku should add the support for this.
Similar problem. Does anyone know if the RC350 remote is IR or is it RF? Sonos claims that a Roku IR remote should work the soundbar / surround system just fine. TV is the TCL Roku TV 65R525
it is! Do u know if there is a simple Roku TV/ IR remote that is compatible with this TV? If so, then I think that would solve the problem of being able to use a single remote to control the TV and the Sonos surround system
If the roku remote has a power key, and has the discrete app keys in a line atop one another, it is for sure an IR roku tv remote.
I've RC463 remote , Vizio TV and Sharp sound bar. The remote's volume control doesn't work. The TV is 6 years old and has the ability to control the sound bar which is connected via Optical port. I see there is an option to "enable/disable Querying AVRs ( instead of TVs). So I guess maybe the AVR volume control is technically possible in the product and Roku might support that in the future firmware release?
