Well it is not supposed to according to the manual, but it did for me. For about a week.
I have a Roku 4k+ stick. I also have a brand new Epson UST projector. I connected my Roku to an HDMI input on my Yamaha receiver. It's the only source material. I used a short HDMI cable from my Yamaha's HDMI out to the Projectors HDMI (arc) input.
Then I went through Roku's setup. I don't know why, but I was able to change volume of the receiver up and down, with just the Roku remote using the remote's side buttons.
I unplugged the projector about a week later and have not been able to get it to work like it did above ever again. It was super nice to only have to use ONE remote.
