Sorry but virtually all universal remotes control over direct line of sight infrared (IR) signals. Roku stick models are normally used out of sight behind a TV where IR signals can't reach so they don't use IR at all and are only controlled by Wi-Fi direct signals that can pass through obstructions like tvs and walls.

If you've lost your original remote or it's no longer working and you need a replacement, get a Roku Voice Remote. It can be found at Walmart, Target, Amazon, etc for about $20. It controls Roku Sticks via Wi-Fi Direct, and also has buttons to provide limited tv controls (power toggle, volume up/down, mute toggle) for most tvs via IR.

  • Roku Streaming Stick +, 3810X, Ser YH0059427035, wifi - Samsung UN55ES6100
  • Roku Streaming Stick, 3600X, Ser 5S56D8240827, wifi - JVC EM37T
  • TCL Roku TV 43S425/C107X, Ser X000001R60KV, wifi
