I need a new remote, and I would like TV power and mute buttons. I've found available remotes, but they all use AAA (or rechargeable) batteries rather than AA. My Roku 4600 gives good battery life, but I'm concerned about the switch to AAA -- they have a lot less capacity than AA. How is the battery life on the AAA and rechargeable remotes? Or are there still new AA remotes available?
I've used Roku remotes with both AA and AAA batteries. I've never noticed any difference in performance. That's not to say there isn't any, just that it wasn't noticeable for me. The batteries do have to be changed on occasion, but I never know which to get until I open the cover. Never any instance of "Oh, it's that remote again. Time to get the AAA batteries out."
