yamaha receiver not passing the signal to the BenQ projector

Yamaha receiver RX-V477, Roku 3, BENQ projector MH539FHD - issue is - power up Roku, start up screen shows through projector, once complete, screen goes blank, no audio or video is passed to projector. I have tried every setting on the receiver and on the projector, but i doubt its the projector - anybody got any advice, tks

Re: yamaha receiver not passing the signal to the BenQ projector

First, temporally connect the Roku directly to the projector. That's the only way to eliminate the projector itself as an issue. Next, try a different HDMI cable from the AVR to the projector (if possible).

I have my Yamaha AVRs both set to video passthrough, as I expect yours to be. Since your AVR is capable of upscaling the video to 4K, and your projector is 1080, you need to ensure that isn't happening.

A bad HDMI cable or dirty connection between the Roku and the AVR is also a possibility.

Roku Stick (3600), Ultra (4640), Ultra (4670), Ultra (4800), Premiere (3920), Insignia 720p Roku TV, Sharp 4K Roku TV, Nvidia Shield, Windows 10 Pro x64 running Serviio and Plex on a wired Gigabit network.
