Re: hot to touch

This is not a tech support forum. Roku techs never respond here. The forum moderators will assist as they can, but they do not provide technical support.

Many devices come with cords (power or otherwise) that aren't sufficient for the end user's needs. That isn't specific to Roku. If the one included is defective, absolutely Roku should replace it. If the wall power supply is defective, it too should be replaced. When someone here suggests a way of troubleshooting, the hope would be that the user already has something available, not that they should go purchase something else.

@cbtx

Thanks for the post.

If you are still unable to resolve the issue you are experiencing, please send me a PM (private message) with your Roku account email address, and include the serial number of the Roku device from Settings>System>About along with a summary of the issue you are experiencing. I'll be able to assist you further from there.

Thanks,
Danny

I've seen CPU's and other chips with heat sinks and such completely melt in the middle.

Until they find a super conductor it is the way it is. All chips get hot.

What may seem hot to you isnt at all hot necessarily to hardware.

To send him a PM, click his name and select view profile if it doesn't go there automatically. On that page will be a button to send a private message. Be aware that some mobile device browsers won't show the button, so you might have to use a regular computer browser.

I went out a bought myself a small external USB computer fan and placed the Roku device on top of it to cool it off. It works really well and haven't had a problem since. Cannot attach an image to show you.
