What Does TV Not Able to power device mean?

While watching TV the device will suddenly and randomly stop and then say "your tv/usb isn't powerfull enough to power the roku"  We've had it just a couple of years so not that long and this is the first time we've seen this happen.  I've put in a new hdmi cable and that didn't fix it.  I did unplug it at night and then it started working again but then the problem box still popped up and stopped the show.  Does this mean the roku is going dead?  We've had the TV, flat scree, for a some years so could the TV being wearing out?  Not really sure what to do next?

Switch from using the tv usb port and plug it directly into a wall outlet.
