Re: Sounds keeps cutting out

I just checked and mine still says that it is up to date with the defective version 5.5 build 9 April 5, 2021.

It was just a component update most likely (though I didn't see it on any of my devices).

Re: Sounds keeps cutting out

I don’t know if this has something to do with the Roku May 12, 10.0.0 upgrade, but a lot of frustrating things have been happening since then.  Roku had 2 or 3 upgrade fixes since May 12, but none have fixed my Roku media player app playing mkv or mp4 and having audio momentary cutoffs every 9-10 sec. This ticket is from May 19, 2021, Re:4369426

Re: Sounds keeps cutting out

I have 2x4670RW…10.0.0.0 Build 4209-46 and 1x4660X Build 4209-46 Re: ticket 4369426 from May 19, 2021.

This all started from the May 12, 10.0.0 upgrade.  My Roku media Player App started having audio cutoffs every 9-10 sec on my H264 .mkv and .mp4 files.  They still play fine if I use my old WDTVLive player or my LG 43UJ6300 TV player, so this proves the problem is with Roku’s May 12th  Upgrade.  I have a few H265 files that play fine, but 95% of my library is H264.

I have wasted a lot of time trying all the audio options, restarting, resetting, powering off my roku’s, fios gig network, TPLink 11000ax router to no change.

Please have your overpaid 130k yr software engineers, according to CNN data, fix your problem.  This is getting old and maybe time to go back to cable or fios tv or something else.  You were a good thing while you lasted.  Been having problems with the sling app also, but won’t get into that.  I am about ready to jump ship.

Roku has trouble hiring/keeping their firmware/software engineers.

That being said, the issue you are referring to is a known issue, and it looks like you have already reported it to Roku directly.

All you (and we) can do now is wait for a firmware fix, and if you have access to other means/platforms of Local/LAN playback, to use them.

Re: Sounds keeps cutting out

Thanks for the quick reply and it is reassuring that they are still working on the problem.  Sorry about the pay remark.  I'm just frustrated.

Re: Sounds keeps cutting out

Same here on Ultra 2020. This is going back if not fixed soon. How pathetic

Hi @Davidsco27

Thanks for the post.

We do not have enough details from your original message to make an effective suggestion. Could you tell us more about your concern? Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or across other channels installed on your Roku device?

With more information, we can assist you further.

All the best,
Kariza
