Roku setup

Jump to solution

Hi, just bought a roku express and tried setting it up. When I turned my tv on and plugged the roku in, the roku would blink a couple times and turn off without ever displaying anything on my tv. I tried switching the HDMI cable to a different one and the same thing happened, I also tried a different port on my tv as well. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to try Resetting the Roku to factory defaults. Somewhere there

is either a reset button or most likely a pin hole to stick a paper clip in. Do so.

With it plugged into power hold the button in a good 30 seconds.

It should reset and in time you should see a bouncing Roku and on to Setup.

I assume you have a wifi signal ready with password.

The light should stay on. Unplug the Roku and watch

for differences on the screen You should get a bouncing Roku in time.

I tried for about 20-30 minutes to get it to stay on. I’ve unplugged it and retried many times, it’ll turn my screen black for a second after plugging it back in and then back to no signal and the roku will stop blinking and turn off.
