Roku completely stopped working.

I have a Roku express purchased in May 2020. It has worked perfectly on the same TV, on HDMI3,  never moved, just occasionally unplugged the power, until several days ago. When I turn it on there’s nothing, not even the bouncing letters. Just a black screen and no sound. The light on the device flashes when I press the buttons on the remote, but no sound or picture.
Ive tried all the suggestions here and elsewhere online, unplugging for periods of time, resetting, using different inputs and nothing is working. I tried it on another tv and I still get nothing. TV works with DVD player and antenna.
Any ideas or did I buy a lemon?

Re: Roku completely stopped working.

You might want to check your internet speed.   Here is what you can do.

Reset your roku,   there should be a button somewhere on it.   the remote should have a button in it like most of them do.  Unplug the roku,  reset and see what happens.  It's not your antenna.

Call your internet provider,  remember it's not always the price it's the value,  explain to them what you have  and they might be of help.

Re: Roku completely stopped working.

I did reset my Roku. When it came back on the blue light is flashing when I hit any button on the remote, but nothing on the screen.
RE: Antenna. I only used it to make sure that the TV was working fine.
I will call my service provider on Thursday.

Re: Roku completely stopped working.

Ok.  You need to take your time.

First,  turn off your router, turn it back on,   then when everything comes back to normal in like before 5 minutes,  on the back of the tablo,  hit that blue button,   also on the roku hit factory reset and undo the tablo channel .  wait a moment and re do the tablo channel.

Re: Roku completely stopped working.

I have done all those things and my Roku is still dead. I give up unless someone else has a new idea.

Re: Roku completely stopped working.

I am having the same problem, I have powered off and even unplugged the power cord from the TV and when I plugged the power cord back and pressed the remote to turn on, it flashes a few times, then stops and nothing. What's next?

@rp20939

Thanks for the post.

Can you please specify the issue you are experiencing? Have you tried powering the Roku device through a wall outlet to see if that helps?

With more detailed information we will be able to assist you further.

Thanks,

Re: Roku completely stopped working.

The unit has a black screen but my cable plays and I can here the shows but no picture.

When I shine a bright light on the face of the TV I can see the HDMI, Netflix, Prime etc figures or connections.

I went to settings and tried the brightness but that did not work.

I powered down the TV several times by unplugging the power cable but no luck. The unit is 3 years old and shouldn't be doing this..

Any suggestions?

Re: Roku completely stopped working.

@rp20939, so you have a RokuTV (i.e., not a Roku device connected to a TV), right?  Roku doesn't make the TVs.  You'll have to contact the manufacturer (Sharp, TCL, Hisense, etc.).  It sounds like your backlight is out, which should be repairable, but may cost more than it's worth.

Where can I get support for my Roku TV™?

Re: Roku completely stopped working.

That is correct, Roku manufactured by TCL. So you believe my black light could be out.
