Roku / Netflix / Atmos

As stated in the title, will Netflix on Roku be able to stream Atmos? Either:

1)  Never
2)  Yes - coming and expected data around xx/xx/20xx
3)  Maybe

I need to know if I should persevere with the Roku (answer 2) or buy something else.

Re: Roku / Netflix / Atmos

No one knows but Netflix, and they don't seem to talk much about it. It's out of Roku's hands for adding functionality to a specific channel. Since their exclusive agreement with XBox and LG has expired, I would expect it to happen. But until Netflix announces something, all we can do is guess.

Not on existing Roku devices as they are not supported devices for Atmos on Netlfix.

We know that is today's status. Is your answer 1,2 or 3? Never, yes and date is xx/xx/20xx or unknown, or maybe? Source of your info?

Until Roku announces something, the answer is always unknown. Or “maybe,” if you want to limit it to your three choices.

That’s how it’s always been. The unknown is exactly that: unknown. That’s why they call it that.

If you need to make a purchase, you should always assume current functionality is functionality going forward. Never depend on Rumorware.

Then it would be Never for existing devices. Probably for coming devices with full Atmos implementation and date might be this fall. Source: naa but why do you think Apple 4K TV is promoted as the set-top with the biggest Atmos catalog?
