Roku Express + loses power

Roku Express + has worked fine for months. Now after shutting TV off the white power light only stays on for a short time. The unit is plugged into a wall  outlet. The Roku unit takes awhile to boot up when turning TV back on.  Annoying please help

Just to be clear, your Roku is powered by wall outlet, not a switched outlet, and it boots up (bouncing Roku logo and everythign) each time you try to use it? Or am I misunderstanding something?

Re: Roku Express + loses power

So, when does it actually shut off? That device has no off switch. If you leave the TV on the Roku and just let it set, how long before it shuts off?

This is really weird, how a device with no off switch, that isn't connected to an external switch, can be shutting off.

The alternative is that when it goes to a screen saver, the screen eventually blacks, and hitting the HOME or other button to awaken it causes the device to crash and reboot. If that's happening, I'd look at the screen saver. Which one are you using?

The Roku  acts like if it was plugged into a USB port on the TV.  I am using the default screen saver.

Which screen saver is that? Not all devices have the same default. And some apps can change the screen saver without user interaction. So, specifically, which screen saver?

One other thing. Is your Roku plugged in directly to the wall? Not to a power strip, but directly into the wall?
