Premiere+ sounds like drums banging

I have been using my Roku Premiere+ for about 5 months to watch Netflix and three other subscription streaming services. Tonight when I tried to play a program on Netflix, the audio sounds like fifty big drums are being hit: bang, bang, bang, bang etc.. for as long as I tried to watch. No voices can be heard. This happens on all the services I tried. The picture is fine. There are no words, just banging noises. How can I fix this? Thank you.

FYI: Five days ago I had an error msg that said my power level was too low. I used this Community to determine what that meant and the suggestions were that I should tried other HDMI cables. I did so and the problem went away.  I can now watch videos, but not hear them.
