ORANGE SCREEEEEN OF DESPAIR!!!!!!!

I’m officially perplexed and I think after what surely had to of been nearly infinite seconds and seconds that I spent “self troubleshooting” the **bleep** out of my poor Lil Roku Express’s issue I apparently have to break down and admit that I’m stumped… Ok so here’s what’s “Crappening” my Roku Express seems to work fine with nothing seemingly wrong all through startup and on the main screen, then I select any app and it loads fine I select a show to watch its fine and finally I press the play button and…… Whaaaaam!!!!! It loads to an orange screen and just as a lil slap in the face kind of tease it plays the audio perfectly fine….. I assume that since everything else works fine it’s not the HDMI cord so what is it a coding issue on their end??? HELP!!!!! Please!!!!!! Before I lose my marbles and chuck this thing in the river!!!! Hahahaha

Don't make assumptions.  Try a new HDMI cable or another HDMI input on your TV.

By the way, there's only one O in lose.

Re: ORANGE SCREEEEEN OF DESPAIR!!!!!!!

Thanks I should have said that I assume it’s not the HDMI or the input port because I’ve also tried those solutions already…. Why does everyone on the internet go for grammar and/or punctuation like it’s the ultimate insult or has anything to do with the topic at hand or reflects my problem solving abilities….. or my intelligence for that matter. Yet…. I still thank you for your advice as it was my lack of detail that led you to believe I hadn’t already tried this…

Re: ORANGE SCREEEEEN OF DESPAIR!!!!!!!

Well I honestly thought a different cable or HDMI input would fix it.  To be clear, does the entire screen turn solid orange or do you see video, but with an orange tint?  The reason it only occurs when you start a video is usually because of a copy protection issue (HDCP), but you usually see a blue screen or a message stating "HDCP error".  I've never heard of an orange screen.

Two things I failed to suggest are first to make sure you're using the supplied power adapter and not your TV's USB port.  Some TVs can't supply enough power and you'll see all kinds of strange things happen.  And second, if you haven't unplugged the power from your TV lately try unplugging it and your Roku for a few minutes and then plug them back in.  I've seen it where it's the TV that needs to be "reset", not the connected device.

As for lose vs. loose, sorry, it's a pet peeve of mine.  I am truly astonished by how often people write loose, looser, or loosing when they're trying to use a form of lose.  It practically gives me a brain hemorrhage.  It's the vast majority of people.  Now that I've pointed it out, you'll probably notice it too.  :-)

@Tjsdaddy610

You didnt mention your Roku model # or firmware version:  Settings/System/About

In addition to all of the good suggestions @renojim provided you, if those dont work, you should also try:

1) Manually configuring your display: Settings/Display type=1080p TV

2) Try your Express on a different TV (if available).
