No signal

When I plug in my new, never set up, Roku express, into hdmi port #1#, my tv gives me “no signal” and my Roku power light just blinks. When I plug it in to my hdmi port #2, I can set everything up but my display will not pick up, causing my tv to only play sound, not picture. Any suggestions? This is my second Roku to try on this tv as I sent my first one back thinking it was a defect in the device.

You didnt mention your TV brand/model.

Not sure how you can set everything up if nothing is displayed.

The fact that you get different results on different HDMI ports is probably indicative of an issue with the TV.

Try the Roku on another TV to narrow down the issue.

thanks for the reply! I have picture on my tv. The only time I don’t is when I try to play movie/show. 

my tv is a Vizio. 

I keep getting an hdcp error but have tried all solutions suggested online.

Manually configure your display:  Settings/Display=1080p TV

If that doesnt work, try 720p and see if you get picture during playback.

What is your Roku model # and firmware version?  Settings/System/About

Its not clear at all what you tried/attempted.

Have you tried it on another TV yet?
