My apps keep turning off

So randomly today my express turned off. After I turned it back on it plays in whatever app I’m in for a few minutes then goes back to the home. I have reset it, factory reset it, and a whole bunch of other suggestions I’ve seen in here but nothing works. It’s less than a year old too so I’m not sure what’s wrong.

Thanks for the post.

Can you please clarify the issue you are experiencing? When the device turns off, is there a light on the device? How are you powering the Roku device? Is the device plugged into the TV USB port or is plugged into a wall outlet?

With more information we will be able to assist you further.

This one doesn’t turn off unless I unplug it and it has a faint light when it’s on. I have it plugged into my wall outlet. Currently I completely unplugged it sense I’m not sure what’s wrong with it.

Please be aware that Roku devices are not supposed to power off.

Yeah, unless they freeze up and you have no choice but to give it the Chief Bromdon treatment.

My Express is exhibiting the same thing.  Any app, 5 minutes and quits to home screen.  No update since December.  Did an update check, a soft reboot, a hard reboot, and a factory reset.  No change.  Would be nice if they had a log file you could check, you know, when you know how to read such things.  I'm sure I could provide a **bleep** of a lot more valuable data if I could tell you exactly what the **bleep** thing just chunked on.

Well after I kept it unplugged for about two days I tested it and now it’s working fine again so I have no idea what happened.

Same thing, started working this morning with no problem, no restart done or anything after the last confirmed problem.

The ONLY app I can watch on my roku express is Netflix. I have unplugged it left it unplugged and plugged it back in and no resolution for me. 

We have 2 roku tvs and I have the streaming roku express and I am the only one in the house with this issue 💔💔

I can no longer return this and I can't afford another since I have lost my business. I also can't reset my roku due to my spectrum tv app. Once the spectrum tv app is off the device it won't be allowed back onto this device. 

I AM SO LOST...PLEASE HELP

Has there been any luck of anyone fixing it ? Is it a system update mine stopped shutting down now it’s doing it again every 5 minutes or so !

Thanks for the post.

Is there a light showing on your device? How are you powering the device? Is it plugged into the TV USB port, or is it plugged into the wall outlet with the provided cables? In addition, have you tried using another HDMI port on your TV as well as trying your device on another TV to see if you are seeing the same issue?
