I get full sound, blue screen video

When I go to play any channel, I get full sound but a blue screen for video.  I get all menus in all channels.  I get the same blue screen on previews on Netflix.

It worked find on Monday but was malfunctioning yesterday.  I live alone and none of the cabling has changed.  Have restarted multiple times.  I also noticed the restarts now take much longer than before.

Re: I get full sound, blue screen video

Hello @fishdude101

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

For clarification, does the blue screen issue only occur on a specific channel or across other channels installed on your Roku device? If all channels are affected, please try these troubleshooting steps below:

  1. The video cable is not connected properly or the cable is faulty
    • Check that the video cable is firmly connected to the back of your Roku player and to the HDMI or composite connector on the TV. If you have a Roku Streaming Stick, then make sure it is firmly connected to the HDMI connector on your TV.
    • If you can, check to see if you have a faulty cable by connecting your Roku player with a different cable.
  2. There is a problem with the TV
    • If you can, try connecting the Roku player to a different input on the TV to see if the problem is with the connector on the TV.
    • If you can, try connecting the Roku player to a different television to see if the problem is with your Roku player or the TV.
  3. If all else fails…
    • Disconnect and reconnect all cables including the power cable.

Moreover, if the problem only happens on one channel, removing the app then reinstalling it may help. To ensure the process is successful, make sure to restart your device before adding the channel back in. We would recommend doing this from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.) > System restart.

Re: I get full sound, blue screen video

I have a 4400R that goes through an A/V receiver.  I have done all of this except change the cable.  I am leaning at a broken HDCP handshake at this time.  Cable comes in tomorrow.

I get normal viewing on all channels until I try to play a video.  All menus work.  It even has a problem playing video from the Roku Player for items on a hard drive.
